New Delhi – An exhibition titled “Portugal–India: Iconic Architecture and Cities” will be held at the Centre Atrium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, from 16 to 25 October 2025. The exhibition is being curated by Architect Rajendra Kumar, New Delhi, in association with Camões – Portuguese Cultural Centre, Embassy of Portugal, New Delhi, as part of the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the Reestablishment of Diplomatic Relations between Portugal and India.

The exhibition explores the architectural relations between India and Portugal, which date back to the 16th century. Much of the early Portuguese architecture in India is reflected in churches, cathedrals, and schools. Regions such as Goa, Daman, and Diu showcase strong Portuguese influence and have evolved into sites of iconic architecture.
Highlighting the legacy and contemporary practices of both nations, the exhibition presents the works of leading architects from Portugal, including Álvaro Siza, Eduardo Souto de Moura, Fernando Távora, Camilo Rebello, Manuel Aires Mateus, and Nuno Valentim, alongside eminent Indian architects such as Charles Correa, Raj Rewal, Bimal Patel (HCP), and Hafeez Contractor and other prominent architects, designers of India and Portugal.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on 16 October 2025 by Ambassador of Portugal João Ribeiro de Almeida and will remain open for public viewing from 17–25 October 2025.
