Odisha: The National Urban Conclave 2026 (NUC 2026) is set to bring together urban professionals, policymakers, government representatives and other stakeholders to discuss practical approaches for strengthening India’s rapidly evolving urban systems. The two-day conclave will be held on October 24–25, 2026, at Mayfair Sanctuary, Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Organised with the support of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, the Government of Odisha and the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA), the conclave follows the success of the National Urban Conclave 2025, which attracted more than 3,000 participants in New Delhi.
The 2026 edition comes at a time when India’s urban growth is increasingly extending beyond conventional municipal boundaries. The emergence of larger city-regions and economic corridors is creating new challenges and opportunities for urban governance, infrastructure planning and service delivery.
According to the organisers, cities and urban regions need to respond to interconnected challenges involving mobility, housing, infrastructure, resource efficiency, institutional capacity and public service delivery. NUC 2026 will therefore focus on identifying practical interventions that can improve city functioning and strengthen urban systems.
The conclave is expected to provide a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange and collaborative action among stakeholders working across India’s urban development landscape. Discussions will examine ways to build more efficient, resilient and future-ready urban areas while addressing the growing complexity of city-region development.
The organisers have invited urban practitioners, institutions, policymakers and other stakeholders to participate in the conclave and contribute to discussions on the future of urban development in India.
