Pune: The Council of Architecture–Training and Research Centre (COA-TRC), Pune, in collaboration with Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Architecture, Akurdi, Pune, is organising an Online Faculty Training Programme titled “Connect the Disconnect: Industry-Responsive Architectural Education” from 7 to 11 September 2026.

The five-day programme is designed to address the gap between architectural education and evolving professional and industry requirements. According to the programme brochure, the training will focus on aligning curricula, teaching methodologies and skill development with the changing needs of the architecture profession.
The programme will be held online from 10:30 am to 1:45 pm each day, with the End of Programme Test (EoPT) scheduled for 11 September from 2 pm to 3 pm. The last date for registration is 1 September 2026.
Five-Day Programme
The training programme covers five key themes:
- Day 1: Bridging Architectural Education and Professional Practice
- Day 2: Outcome-Based Education for Industry-Relevant Learning
- Day 3: Digital Transformation in Architecture: AI and Computational Design
- Day 4: Innovation, Research, and Sustainable Architectural Practice
- Day 5: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Design and Problem Solving
The stated objectives include implementing Outcome-Based Education (OBE) through measurable learning outcomes, strengthening understanding of BIM, parametric design and emerging digital technologies, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration, and promoting innovation, research and sustainable architectural practices.
The programme will feature experts including Ar. Prashant Pole, Dr. Binumol Tom, Dr. Chetan Sahasrabudhe, Dr. Supriya Patil, Prof. Sarika Agarwal, Dr. Rama R. Subramanian, Dr. Madhura Yadav, Ar. Lalitkishor Bhati, Ar. Sangeet Sharma and Ar. Biju Kuriakose.
Registration Details
The registration fee is ₹1,500. Teachers and architects can register either through the Collaborative Training Programme (CTP) route or as independent participants. Colleges may also nominate faculty members under the CTP.
The programme is specifically intended for teachers and architects and is not open to students. Participants who successfully attend all sessions and complete the required assignments, EoPT and feedback form will receive an e-certificate by email.
