PhD – A Journey: National Workshop by COA-TRC and Trinity College of Architecture, Pune

Pune, Maharashtra — The Council of Architecture – Training and Research Centre (COA-TRC), in collaboration with KJ’s Educational Institute’s Trinity College of Architecture, Pune, is organizing a transformative online workshop titled “PhD – A Journey” from 28th July to 1st August 2025. This national-level program is specially curated for professionals navigating or contemplating a doctoral research path in architecture and planning.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open only to faculty members, architects, and professionals in architecture-related fields
  • Applicants can register either as independent individuals or through the Collaborative Training Program (CTP) 2023–2025
  • Students are not eligible for this workshop
  • Participants must submit registration forms along with proof of payment or an official nomination letter on institutional letterhead
  • Completion requires attending all sessions, submitting assignments, feedback, and an End of Program Test (EoPT)
  • E-Certificates will be emailed to successful participants

Workshop Overview

PhD is a journey that unfolds through intellectual rigor, reflection, and strategic inquiry. This five-day workshop addresses crucial questions like:

  • Why pursue a PhD beyond academic credentials?
  • What kind of intellectual, emotional, and financial commitment does it require?
  • How can AI be used as a tool rather than a threat?
  • What are research methods, methodology, and how do they differ?
  • How to move from literature review to a theoretical framework?
  • What are effective ways to publish research, and what lies beyond data and statistics?
