New Delhi – The Council of Architecture (CoA), India, in collaboration with GRIHA Council, has announced the launch of ‘Nirmaan’, an Idea Design Competition for the upcoming 17th GRIHA Summit.
The competition invites architecture students and professionals to design an office building located in one of India’s five climatic zones, focusing on climate-responsive and sustainable architecture.
Important Dates
- Registration opens: 16th September 2025, 12:00 pm
- Registration closes: 3rd October 2025, 07:00 pm
- Concept note submission deadline: 7th October 2025, 07:00 pm
Shortlisted participants will be notified and required to submit their final designs by 24th October 2025.
Awards & Recognition
- Winner 1: Cash Prize of ₹75,000 + Trophy + Certificates of Achievement + Featured Publications
- Winner 2: Cash Prize of ₹50,000 + Trophy + Certificates of Achievement
In addition, all shortlisted participants will receive a complementary entry pass to the 17th GRIHA Summit and an opportunity to join the summit sessions.
This initiative aims to encourage innovative architectural thinking, while contributing to India’s growing knowledge base on sustainable and climate-responsive building design.
